We were thrilled to receive an invitation to opening night of LUZIA – the latest production from the incredible Cirque du Soleil. The show was set to take place at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter under the iconic Big Top.
The world renowned performance company holds a special place in our hearts, after they invited us along to their MJ ONE production while we were in Las Vegas on our honeymoon a few years back.
We couldn’t wait to check out this latest production and the atmosphere on opening night was electric!
Before we even had a chance to head inside, the entire surrounding of the Big Top was alive like we had never witnessed before. Live musicians, dancers in elaborate costumes, an endless supply of delicious appetizers and cocktails flowed… Cirque du Soleil know how to throw an opening night event and they were not playing around.

And with very good reason: Australian audiences couldn’t get enough of this show. In response to overwhelming demand, Cirque du Soleil had to add an additional 15 Sydney shows across an extra 9 days – all before LUZIA had even opened.
Sydney was the final stop of its national tour. The show has been the talk of the town in Adelaide and Perth, with over 150,000 flocking to see the show in Melbourne alone.
The exquisite production is a must see. A dazzling spectacle bursting with wowing performances from hoop diving to jaw dropping contortion. The visually striking use of water makes LUZIA stand out from the crowd.
The best performing artists in the business left us speechless we were transported into a new world, oozing with mind blowing spectacles.

Don’t miss the chance to witness the magic of Cirque du Soleil any time they come to a city near you. We’ve seen several of their productions over the years and every single time we are left speechless!
