For our first trip to Singapore, we wanted to stay somewhere spectacular – and we found just the place.
QT Hotels are known for their dramatic and sexy decor, and for providing a stay which is luxurious and trendy. When we heard the renowned international chain had just opened a hotel in Singapore we knew we had to check it out. One quick glance at the pictures and location and we were sold.
In the ever-evolving world of global travel, QT Hotels have carved a reputation for marrying creativity, luxury, and a healthy dose of playful irreverence. The newest addition to the QT family, QT Singapore, is no exception. Set in the heart of the city, this dazzling property is a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and style — perfect for the discerning LGBTQ+ traveler seeking a chic escape with personality and flair.
From the moment you step through the doors, QT Singapore’s commitment to design-forward luxury hits you. We were travelling at Christmas time and the festive decor was absolutely magical. Bold and stylish, without being the slightest bit tacky – even Sean (well-known to friends and family as a Grinch during the holidays) was taken by the lights, stunning tree and wrapped gifts all around the foyer.
The lobby, an explosion of colour and texture, sets the tone for the entire hotel. The quirky, often unexpected details make it feel less like a hotel and more like a curated experience, giving off an energy that’s unapologetically modern and fun. Every corner offers something to catch the eye.
Nestled in the vibrant Marina Bay district, close to Chinatown and literally right opoosite the most incredible Hawker centre (market style community dining) QT Singapore places you right where you want to be. From here we were easily able to access Orchard Road, with its high-end shopping and bustling nightlife, Haji Lane markets, Universal Studios Singapore and the stunning Marina Bay Sands.
For LGBTQ+ guests, the hotel’s inclusive vibe is immediately apparent. It’s a space that feels welcoming and accessible, blending luxury with playful sophistication. The QT brand is renowned for embracing individuality, and it’s reflected in everything from the personalized service to the distinct style of the rooms, where indulgence meets irreverence.
QT Singapore doesn’t just offer a room; it offers an experience. Each room is thoughtfully designed to be both a sanctuary and a statement. The interiors are a mix of luxury and eccentricity, with plush textures, statement pieces, and bold accents.
We stayed in a QT Deluxe King room, which was absolutely spectacular. Walking into the room, we were taken back by the high ceilings and sexy, masculine decor. There were large wardrobes so we could put our luggage out of the way straight away – something we always appreciate. Here we also found plush robes and slippers for lounging in the room.
A massive king bed is the centrepiece of the bedroom, and it provided us with the most comfortable and luxurious rest each night. A literal dream. There was a huge flatscreen TV complete with Chromecast, dramatic variations in lighting, electronic curtains – all centrally controlled by an iPad that rested in a dock beside the bed. Genius!
The room also had a workspace with a wireless Bose speaker – and the most stunning tall bar equipped with a range of glassware, Nespresso coffee machine and a mini fridge.
The bathroom instantly catches your eye, with its bold black and grey zig zags on marble. The room features a spacious rain shower and bathtub generously filled with Kevin Murphy amenities and even a Dyson Supersonic hairdyer.
When it comes to dining, Singapore has you covered with a huge variety of options. But if you enjoy the convenience of not having to venture too far for breakfast – or your are looking for a luxrious dinner experience, we highly recommend the fabulous Cygnet restaurant by executive chef Sean Connolly. The gorgeous restaraunt within the hotel doubles as a cafe for breakfast and a New York-inspired speakeasy for Dinner at night.
We enjoyed breakfast here each day of our stay, devouring the eggs benedict, avocado on toast and a variety of iced and hot coffees each morning.
We treated ourselves to a dinner booking one night and were wowed by the Steak Frites and New York Burger, as we sipped Prosecco. The service here is first class and dining at Cygnet was the type of romantic and sophisticated experience you dream of.
Worth noting that Cygnet is open daily for breakfast, with lunch Mon – Fri and dinner Mon – Sat.
Elsewhere in the hotel you’ll find the fully equipped fitness centre, if you’re wanting to stay on top of your training game. On the top floor you’ll find the hotels stunning rooftop pool and bar, offering a seductive escape, with signature cocktails served alongside views of the city buildings. A perfect spot for a sunset cocktail with friends or a nightcap after a night on the town.
There are deck chairs, lounges, fresh towels and a sexy and minimal funky soundtrack – keeping the vibes relaxed yet sophisticated. We ordered margaritas and lounged in the sun, before taking a dip in the shimmering pool. Singapore is known for its humidity so the rooftop pool is the perfect escape from the heat.
A waiter came and offered us complimentary spicy popcorn as we laid back down, feeling any tension and stress of the year melt away.
The queer-friendly energy at QT Singapore is undeniable, with a mix of locals and international guests creating a cosmopolitan and inclusive atmosphere. You’ll feel instantly at ease, whether you’re celebrating with friends or enjoying a romantic evening. One of QT Singapore’s standout features is its exceptional service. The staff is attentive, approachable, and eager to ensure your stay is nothing short of spectacular.
35 Robinson Road has a known legacy and this is its most thrilling incarnation yet. Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway, a romantic retreat, or a solo adventure, the hotel’s vibrant energy and top-notch service will ensure your stay is memorable. If you’re looking for more than just a hotel – but an experience that’s bold, creative, and unmistakably chic – QT Singapore is your next must-visit.
